Ali is co-founder and head of business and operations at Lavita. Ali has led early-stage investments in healthcare, biotech, and AI for Camford Capital since 2016. Camford Capital is an early-stage venture fund based in Palo Alto, CA with more than $500M assets under management. Ali advises several startups serving on their boards, including Engine Biosciences, Totus Medicines, Alchemab Therapeutics, Carbon Biosciences, Syntiant,  Surge Therapeutics, CG Oncology, and FedML.  Prior to venture capital, Ali worked as a management consultant for Kearney, a global consultancy firm, in healthcare, finance, and operations practices. Combining his past experiences as a consultant and an operator, and with his expertise in early-stage venture investments and financing, Ali has become a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs and executives of young startups. Ali holds PhD degree in systems engineering from MIT, Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University, and MBA degree from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
